text-align: left;">Recently I was camping solo on the island, surfing, eating well, and having a time. This came to an abrupt end when I partially tore my MCL in the water. Just after I got out of the water and was painfully removing my wetty, this California Sea Lion crawled out of the surf and onto the beach. This poor girl was was having a really rough time, and I assume had crawled ashore to die. Everything is amazingly preserved, especially considering the tectonic setting of the city (surrounded by massive volcanoes).<br /><br />Ironically the hotel we are staying in was constructed of a composite which is meant to resemble the older volcanic tuffs. I just can't see how a false rock can be cheaper to build with given the extent of these tuffaceous rocks which form high cliffs along road cuts surrounding the city. The false rock may look nice, but you ain't fooling any geologists... which seem to be a large portion of the clientele at this particular hotel.<br /><br /><a Two essentially new boards completely ruined. You can't see the tails, but they are smashed in as well, and the 'Biscuit' on top has a large crack on the top sheet, and pressure cracks down the rails.<br /><br />Now I'm back down in Chile with no surfboards, and the town I'm in doesn't even have a surf shop. I had to get my friends to bring wax for me last time...
